Check out some of these awesome read alouds from teachers at our school:

**New** I created a new Flipgrid of read alouds for books that we are reading together during our Zoom meetings on Monday. If a student missed the story or would like to listen to it again, they can find the story on our Read Alouds Grid. Click this link, https://flipgrid.com/mccann2583, to access the read alouds. Students will need to login with their school Microsoft account. I'll post a new book every Monday. So far I have Iggy Peck Architect and Malala's Magic Pencil uploaded.

**New** Ms. Huey is doing a read aloud of Tuck Everlasting for 4th grade. This is a fantasy book about a family that can live forever, but they try to remain unnoticed until a girl finds out about them. Students can access the read alouds through Flipgrid by clicking this link,https://flipgrid.com/176ab4fd. They just have to login using their school email. She will be posting new chapters and discussion questions so be sure to check it out!

**New** Mrs. Rittenhouse is doing a read aloud of Bob on Flipgrid for 3rd and 4th graders. This is a fantasy and mystery book. Students can access the read alouds through Flipgrid by clicking the link below. They just have to login using their student ID number. There will be 3 chapters up each week for them to listen to as well as discussion questions.

**New** Here is a link to a virtual library that has tons of read alouds in English and Spanish, https://sites.google.com/view/classlibrary/home

Hi everyone, I've been finding some online learning activities for students to work on while they are at home. If you click on useful links on the left side of this page, it will show you a variety of resources that students can access. There are math, reading, science, and social studies activities for students to use. If students need login information please contact me and I'd be happy to send it to you. Also trying out some new ideas to help us stay connected while we are away from school. We will be using Zoom to have mini lessons and check ins. It is similar to Skype, but this way we can have more students on the video chat at once. Check your emails for invites to our Zoom class video chats. Students will be able to access their online learning assignments through our Seesaw page. Students can go https://app.seesaw.me and login using their code to access their account. Students can also login through Clever. Once they've logged into Clever they can click on the Seesaw app and login through there as well with their code. Students should check Seesaw on a regular basis in order to see what assignments they have for the week.

Check out the Encore team's class pages as well on our school website to find more distance learning activities. Make sure to follow our school's twitter as well to get information and our encore teachers to get daily ideas for fun activities to do at home:

Watch this video that Mrs. Rittenhouse, one of our librarians, has made to help students sign up for an online library card. Even though libraries are closed right now, the online library card will let them check books out that they can read on their devices. Click this link below to watch the video on how to sign up and get your library card today!

Gifted students please check out Ms. Matz's page for some engaging activities as well. She is posting a weekly schedule as well. Here is the link to her website:

About Me

Welcome to 4th grade! I'm so excited to get to be your fourth grade teacher! This is my first year teaching and I am very excited to be able to work at Loch Lomond. I worked as an intern here last through George Mason University. I'm very excited to see what new things we will get to learn together this year.

Here's a little bit of information about me. I love Disney and going to the beach with my family. My favorite sport is soccer and I referee and help coach a girls' team. I've always loved school especially reading, math, and history. I have 2 younger sisters, one is in high school and the other is in college. I went to VT for undergrad and George Mason for my Masters in education. Looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you this year!
