Welcome to the Science and Title I Math page. I’m Terrie Shaffstall and I came to Loch Lomond Elementary in 2000. Over the years I have served students and their families in a variety of capacities. I began my career at Loch Lomond as the Library Media Assistant. In 2007 I completed my Bachelor Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Sudies with a PreK-6th grade teaching certification. From 2007 to 2015 I taught first grade and during three of those school years I taught in a combined First Grade/Kindergarten classroom. In 2013, to further my professional career in teaching, I met the standard for National Board Certification set by the board of directors of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Childhood/Generalist. A position as the lead science teacher and Title I math teacher was made available to me in 2015. As the Title I Math teacher I have the opportunity to work with teachers and their students in Kindergarten through Second Grade. For students who are in Third to Fifth grade, I bring to their classrooms hands-on science experiments. When I am not in the classroom, I head up the Garden Club and can be found in our school garden. We have a large number of students who enjoy gardening at Loch Lomond and we are always looking for volunteers who don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty.
