Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on P.E. day.

Green Communication Folder
Please make sure you are checking your child's folder every night. Please make sure all notes are sent in the folder. Any money needs to be sent in an envelope, baggie, etc. labeled with your child's name and what the money is for.

Snack
We will be having snack everyday. Please send in something that your child will be able to eat within 10 minutes. Please send in healthy snacks. Please no soda. Students are allowed to keep a bottle of water at their seats during the day.

Reminders

Please remember to send your child's emergency card back to school as soon as possible.
Please send in a change of clothes for your child. Accidents do happen and it is important that we have a change of clothes.

Weekly Updates

I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! I miss seeing everyone's smiling faces every morning and I hope that we are able to get back into the classroom soon! If you need to get a hold of me during this time my email is hartzecm@pwcs.edu. Under Files and Documents I have upload our pacing guide, so that you may see the topics we would be working on during this time. I will also update below what we would be learning each week, so you may work on the same skills at home. Also, Mr Houle is our classroom ESOL teacher who supports our Englsih Language Learners. Math- Learning combinations that make 5 (ex. 3 and 2, 4 and 1, ect.)
Phonics- Digraphs and short and long vowels. Sounding out and writing CVC words.
Language Arts- Reading and writing sight words.
Read Aloud- Memoirs of a Goldfish (can be found on youtube)
Writing- Writing sentences to tell someone how to do something.
Science- Learning about the wind and what the wind can below.

Week of 3/16-3/20
Math- Review numbers to 20 and comparing and ordering numbers to 20.
Phonics- Digraphs and short and long vowels. Sounding out and writing CVC words.
Language Arts- Reading and writing sight words.
Read Aloud- How to Catch a Leprechaun (can be found on youtube)
Writing- Writing sentences to tell someone how to do something.

This week in math we are continuing to work on learning how to use different math manipulates. We are also learning about the penny. In phonics, we are working on same, different, and categories. In handwriting, we are working on writing B,R, L, and H. In writing, we are learning how to draw pictures. In science, we are learning about colors. During center time, we are learning how to use our centers. Our read aloud story for this week is The Crayon Box That Talked.

Week of 8/26-8/30
This week we will be working on learning classroom rules and procedures. We will be working on recognizing our names and the letters in our names. We will be learning how to write our names. We will be working on numbers 1-5. We will be reading lots of stories and learning lots of new songs!
